Roles and Responsibilities:
Understands, supports and promotes the mission, vision and values of Organization.
Provides age appropriate patient care according to the Nursing Scope of Practice as defined by the regulatory body.
Adheres to and promotes the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi.
Promotion of health and delivery of health education.
Ensuring the provision of optimum clinical care, customer satisfaction and patient safety.
PICU Specialized clinical tasks
Intensive care nurses will face emergencies, life threatening situations and need to be certified in Paediatric Advanced life support and function in the heat of the emergency.
Intensive care nurse needs to have knowledge on the medications indications, contra-indications, effect and side effects, i: e inotropic support, Vasopressors and Sedation.
Administer infusions and monitor special equipment such as Ventilators, CRRT, and assess patient’s condition.
Prioritize a busy workload
Intensive care nurse to provide age appropriate care to children admitted in PICU.
Have knowledge and be proficient with the health information medical system and BMDI.
Follow cardiac and respiratory monitor readings such as ECG and O2 saturations and communicate observations to the doctor.
Monitor intake and output, insert catheters and start IVs.
Maintain competency with blood administration and monitoring thereof.
Maintain competency with relevant Point of Care testing and blood collection via the venepuncture, arterial line and central line
Trained ECMO specialists to complete the yearly education and competencies.
Education and Experience requirements:
Bachelor degree in nursing
Valid license to practice
BLS
Desired:
International accreditation experience
Experience required:
Not less than 2 years clinical experience in a tertiary healthcare facility
