Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the department  with all Treasury management functions including but not limited to working capital management, insurance and risk management, cash management and projections, short term investments, bank relations, and other treasury related functions.
  • Effectively monitoring, review daily cash transactions and bank reports.  Administer cash flow planning & funding and review/approve cash transfers
  • Custodian of SSMC’s insurance and risk portfolio
  • Advising the department  in directing the operations of reporting of treasury activities, and monitoring performance on a regular basis
  • Managing the facilities cash management functions including funding.  Ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs.
  • Develop and manage dividend policy and capital injections.
  • Liquidity management, including cash management, investments, short-term borrowing facilities, dividends planning, capital injections., shareholder and third party borrowings.
  • Oversee cash management banking and financial institution relationships.  Negotiate bank and service fees.  Implement new bank technologies, products and services to improve cash cycle and simplify company operations.
  • Assisting the department in the deployment of treasury policies, procedures and guidelines, monitoring adherence and ensuring compliance
  • Using a deep understanding of financial performance to make recommendations to relevant to SSMC
  • Directing the provision of financial management support including analyzing and interpreting financial and non-financial information
  • Work with other departments on treasury related items.
  • Contributing to the development of the annual strategic business plan
  • Coordinating and communicating with senior management to ensure the strategic goals of SSMC are being met
  • Assisting direct reports in establishing strategic plan, goals, and objectives and provides leadership on their implementation.
  • Liaising and collaborating with internal and external auditors
  • Primary focal point for dealing with SSMC  Treasury and Mayo counterparts.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of cross-division coordination mechanisms and information sharing
  • Checking workload, performance management, day to day supervision, training and orientation of the staff
  • Planning and supervising the day to day activities of the department/section; streamlining processes wherever possible
  • Evaluating workload, conducting performance evaluation and initiating necessary disciplinary actions
  • Providing on the job training and orienting the team during course of work
  • Supporting the identification of the training requirements of the team and communicating the same for the benefit of the training department/section
Education Requirement:
  • Required:
    • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Banking/ Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
  • Desired:
    • Master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance/Commerce/Business Administration or relevant field
Experience Required:
  • Required:
    • 8-10 years of relevant Treasury experience of which minimum 5 years progressive supervisory responsibility in a large organization.
    • Experience in risk management and bank relationship management at a senior level.
  • Desired:
    • Experience in a large healthcare facility.
