Organ donation is the process of removing an organ or tissue from either a living or a deceased donor to surgically transplant it into another person in need.

How can I register as a donor?

Who can become a donor in the UAE?
Any resident in the UAE over the age of 21 can donate organs. Younger suitable donors will need the consent of family members in case of death.
Donation by living donors is restricted to relatives within the fourth degree and couples married for at least two years. While brain-dead donors’ organs are
transplanted to people that suffer from organ failure.
Alive donors are legally permitted to back out at any time before the organ is officially removed from their body.
Which organs can be donated?
In the UAE, the organs that can be donated to save lives are: the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs and pancreas.
What does religion say about donation?
The gift of organ donation is supported and encouraged among many religions. The Islamic religion and fatwas are clear and support organ donation to save lives.
