Accredited organizations are responsible for demonstrating that they meet requirements for delivering independent CME that accelerates learning, change, and improvement in healthcare.

Benefits of CME Accreditation

Having an event accredited will demonstrate that it meets the standards as defined by international accreditation standard, and that it offers a high-quality learning experience. Recognition of these factors may assist in attracting delegates.

Why Accredited CME Matters

Accredited CME addresses every medical specialty, covering the full range of topics important to healthcare improvement. Whether physicians work in clinical care, research, healthcare administration, executive leadership, or other areas of medicine, accredited CME is designed to be relevant to their needs, practice-based, and effective.

Participation in accredited CME helps physicians meet requirements for maintenance of licensure, maintenance of certification, credentialing, membership in professional societies, and other professional privileges.

Requirements for accreditation CME event:

It is vital that all licensed doctors demonstrate that their knowledge and skills are up to date and that they remain fit to practice. Attending regular educational activities is one way in which they can demonstrate commitment to their professional development. The CME Center has established a process for reviewing and (where appropriate) accrediting educational activities for the purposes of Continuing Medical Education to recognize which are worthy of attendance. In order to receive accreditation, an event must demonstrate an appropriateness and ability to contribute to the continuing medical education of healthcare professionals.

  • A detailed program agenda, including speaker names, topics, times, and professions for each speaker, as well as a DOH license
  • Complete speaker disclosure with their electronic signatures.
  • Each topic’s learning objectives and abstract
  • Program chair information, including DOH license, speciality and contact information
  • Speakers’ contact information, including email addresses, medical specialties, nationalities and DOH licenses
  • Fill out the DOH information form
  • What kind of evaluation tool will be used? Who will be generating the attendance? Copy from the announcement flier.
  • What type of event: live, hybrid or in-person?

Accreditation guidelines:

As a CME provider licensed by the Department of Health. The CME Center will offer high-quality CME opportunities that comply with DOH Category 1 and accreditation standards
