Rizwan Syed, M.B.B.S., M.Sc., (F.R.C.R.), (F.R.C.S.), is a consultant & chair of clinical imaging at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi.

With triple accreditation in surgery, radiology and nuclear medicine, Dr. Syed possesses over two decades of comprehensive practice in the field of clinical imaging. He completed his radiology fellowship training at Oxford University as well as a one-year IR hepatobiliary fellowship at the Royal London Hospital. Furthermore, he received his training in nuclear medicine from the University College London Hospital with a special interest in oncoradiology, theranostics, and PET/CT/PET and MRI imaging. With extensive experience in leading medical facilities across the UK and the Middle East, Dr. Syed has been responsible for facilitating continuing medical education (CME), workshops and training courses in several countries. He established the first theradiagnostic services in the UAE. Furthermore, Dr. Syed has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in world-renowned journals. He is part of the academic committee for various nuclear medicine journals, including Nuclear Medicine Communications, the Journal of Oncology and Allied Specialties and the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Medical Imaging.
