Dr. Ali Hussein, M.B.Ch.B., is a Consultant Emergency Physician with the Department of Emergency Medicine at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Hussein is a Consultant Emergency Physician and brings more than 28 years of clinical experience across emergency, acute, military, and rural medicine, with extensive leadership exposure in high-acuity emergency department settings.
He is Arab Board-certified in Emergency Medicine and currently practises in the UAE. He holds active medical licences across multiple jurisdictions, including the UAE, Oman, Iraq, and Qatar. His clinical expertise includes the management of complex, time-critical emergencies, emergency department operations, and multidisciplinary team leadership in tertiary and trauma-capable hospitals.
His professional interests include clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, emergency department workflow optimisation, and medical education. Dr. Hussein is actively involved in mentoring junior physicians and contributes to morbidity and mortality reviews, KPI monitoring, and protocol development aligned with Department of Health (DoH) and international standards.
In addition to his core Emergency Medicine practice, Dr. Hussein holds advanced qualifications in Aesthetic and Regenerative Medicine. He completed a Diploma from the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine and a Fellowship from the American Board of Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine in 2025. This advanced training strengthens his expertise in facial anatomy, procedural precision, and complication management, complementing his emergency care practice, particularly in facial trauma and procedural interventions.
