Dr. Ahmed brings more than 22 years of experience in nephrology and internal medicine. Before joining SEHA Kidney Care in 2018, he held senior clinical and academic positions in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. These included roles as Consultant Physician and Nephrologist at North East Wales NHS Trust in the United Kingdom, Consultant Nephrologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Shifa International Hospital and School of Medicine in Pakistan, and Consultant Nephrologist at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Saudi Arabia. During his time at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Dr. Ahmed served as Director of Quality and Patient Safety, co-chaired the Quality and Patient Safety Committee, and was a member of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs Corporate Quality and Patient Safety Council. Dr. Ahmed also served as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi. His clinical interests include dialysis care, acute kidney injury, hypertension, diabetic and hypertensive kidney disease, cardiorenal syndrome, and anaemia of renal disease.
