The Division of Paediatric Rheumatology is a speciality of Paediatrics that deals with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Rheumatological conditions. This includes autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system and other organs in children.
In rheumatic conditions, the immune system is unable to make a distinction between harmful invaders and the body's healthy tissues as it starts to counteract by releasing chemicals that cause joint swelling, pain and other manifestations in the body. Children suffering from these diseases experience a significant drop in their quality of life as the inflammation and pain impedes them from performing physical activities necessary for their development.
We also look after mechanical pains in children including assessment of hypermobility, flat feet, anterior knee pain and other conditions.
Here at the Paediatric Rheumatology Division, we understand how precious your child is. Our multidisciplinary team's approach aligns with our mission to provide our patients with the best care to ensure healthy and energetic growth.
