Dr. Eleanor Curtis is currently the Burn Director for the Trauma, Burn, and Rehabilitation Medicine Team at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. She also serves as a Consultant in Burn Surgery and Critical Care.
She earned her medical doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, US, laying the groundwork for a distinguished career in medicine. Her comprehensive surgical training continued with a general surgery residency at the University of California, Davis. During this time, Dr. Curtis also pursued a Masters in Preventive Veterinary Medicine, a qualification that provided her with a robust understanding of public health principles, akin to a Masters of Public Health.
Further specialising, she completed two fellowships at the University of Washington in Seattle, US: one in Burn Surgery and Critical Care and another in Palliative Medicine, demonstrating her commitment to both acute and holistic patient care.
In her professional career, Dr. Curtis has served as a highly respected Consultant in Trauma Surgery, Burn Surgery, Critical Care, and Palliative Medicine. Beyond her clinical contributions, she is deeply involved in academia, holding appointments as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, US.
