Before joining SSMC, Dr. Chahine was the chief medical officer and chair of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at Rafik Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) in Beirut, Lebanon for 8 years where he managed a large team of consultants, resident staff, medical students in addition to midwives, nurses and administrative personnel.
Known for his unwavering commitment to patient care, clinical excellence and medical education, Dr. Chahine’s experience in the field extends over 23 years, specifically in high-risk obstetrics, advanced prenatal diagnosis and ultrasonography.
Dr. Chahine also pioneered one of the largest referral programmes for Abnormally Invasive Placenta (AIP) in Lebanon and the Middle East. His work on the adoption of the Robson classification for caesarean sections earned him recognition as a WHO regional expert on the Robson classification. Furthermore, Dr. Chahine has several publications and is an active member of many local and regional scientific societies and groups.
