Dr. Vijay Papineni possesses a special interest in musculoskeletal radiology, sports injuries, and Artificial Intelligence. He has 29 years of experience as a clinician (post-M.B.B.S.) and 14 years of experience as a Lead Musculoskeletal Radiologist in both the UK and the UAE.
Before undergoing radiology training, he worked in various surgical specialties including orthopedics, emergency medicine, general/vascular surgery, urology/critical care and ENT. Subsequently, he was awarded a Membership by the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow, UK.
He completed his Radiology and MSK Radiology training from the Sheffield Radiology Training Scheme in South Yorkshire, UK, and obtained a Fellowship from the Royal College of Radiologists, UK, in 2006. He was then awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training (C.C.T.) in Clinical Radiology. Furthermore, he was also awarded a Diploma in MSK Radiology by the European Society of Skeletal Radiology (E.S.S.R.) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2013.
Recently, he completed a Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the University of Texas, USA (2020). He was awarded a Diploma in Sports Medicine from the Institute of Sports Science & Technology, India, in 2022.
He was recently elected as the president of the Emirates Musculoskeletal Radiology Club.
