SSMC is committed to supporting learners from a variety of backgrounds through structured clinical, non-clinical, and professional development experiences. This form is used to apply for different types of training across SSMC’s education centers.
To ensure your application is complete and correctly categorized, please read the following instructions carefully before submitting your request.
Step 1: Select the Appropriate Training Category
Please select the program type that best describes your training needs:
Program Category | Description |
---|---|
Clinical Observership | For students or graduates seeking observational exposure (no hands-on practice). This program is open for all types of applicants. |
Clinical Elective | For medical students from SSMC-partnered universities ONLY applying for clinical elective rotations (includes hands-on clinical participation under supervision). |
Clinical Placement | For students from SSMC-partnered institutions (Nursing & Allied Health) undergoing longer-term clinical rotations or internship training. |
Return-to-Practice Program | For healthcare professionals re-entering the field after a career break. |
Non-Clinical Internship | For students or graduates seeking experience in non-clinical departments (e.g., HR, IT, Marketing, Strategy, Biomedical Engineering). |
Note: You may only apply to one program at a time. Submitting duplicate or mismatched applications may result in delays or rejections.
Step 2: Review Timeframes for Clinical Observership Program
If you are applying to the Clinical Observership Program for categories in medicine or allied health, your application must be submitted according to the designated schedule below:

- Applications submitted outside these windows will not be reviewed or considered.
- All clinical observerships begin on a Monday.
- You will receive a decision within 4 weeks from the start of the review period.
Exception: Nursing Education Center
Applications for clinical observerships in the Nursing Education Center are accepted year-round with no fixed deadlines. These are reviewed on a rolling basis and scheduled based on departmental capacity.
Step 3: Prepare Required Documents
All files must meet the following requirements:
- Allowed formats: PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG
- Maximum file size: 2 MB each
- File names should be clear and professional
Required Uploads:
- Updated CV or Resume.
- University Enrollment Letter or Graduation Certificate.
- Valid Emirates ID (if residing in the UAE).
- Valid Passport Copy.
- Passport-size Photograph (white background).
- Visa (non-UAE nationals) or Family Book (UAE nationals).
- Valid Health Insurance.
- Valid BLS Certificate if you are applying for nursing education categories.
A medical examination is required after conditional acceptance. Instructions will be sent by email upon program acceptance and must be completed prior to onboarding.
Step 4: What Happens Next
- Applications are reviewed based on the selected program type.
- Final placement decisions depend on department availability.
- Applicants will receive a formal decision via email within 4 weeks of the program’s review period (or submission for rolling programs).

- Incomplete or miscategorized applications will not be reviewed or considered.
