The Critical Care Medicine Fellowship program at SSMC Abu Dhabi offers an unparalleled educational opportunity through a 2-year program in the theoretical and practical aspects of critical care medicine.
SSMC’s staff of more than 26 intensivists serve as teachers and mentors. These world-class consultants with various backgrounds in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Anesthesia, Surgery and Emergency Medicine offer a rich diversity of clinical expertise and educational opportunities.
We provide primary services to 16 bed MICU, 16 bed SICU and consultation services in 20 bed Burn ICU and 30 bed Cardiac ICU. Hundreds of diagnostic and therapeutic critical care procedures are performed in SSMC ICUs using the most advanced tools to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
We have a curriculum thoughtfully designed to balance clinical, didactic and research experiences in critical care medicine. Our fellows also get training in quality improvement tools and leadership skills. The fellows will graduate with a high level of competence in managing patients with life-threatening illnesses.
Program Requirements:
Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) is a two-day, interactive course, which includes mandatory, pre-course e-learning. It covers the practical skills and knowledge that health care professionals need to effectively care for surgical patients, including those who are deteriorating or at risk of doing so.
