Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication (TIF) is an advanced endoscopy procedure that provides relief from symptoms of acid reflux (heartburn) commonly associated with chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Our team of North American and European Certified gastroenterologists utilize TIF to treat GERD without surgery due to its shorter treatment time ensuring minimal discomfort to the patient and faster recovery.
The TIF procedure is performed under general anesthesia and uses a device guided with an upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscope to reconstruct the gastroesophageal valve and prevent acid reflux.
During the procedure, the doctor inserts the endoscope through a special TIF device that allows the physician to repair the body's natural barrier and uses preloaded forceps (tweezers) and fasteners. TIF is a minimally invasive procedure, which means that it requires no incision and therefore, allows patients to be discharged within 24 hours after the procedure, provided there are no complications.
Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) is a two-day, interactive course, which includes mandatory, pre-course e-learning. It covers the practical skills and knowledge that health care professionals need to effectively care for surgical patients, including those who are deteriorating or at risk of doing so.
