Dr. Almessabi is a consultant gastroenterologist with almost 20 years of experience. He graduated from the Medical School of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2001. He trained in Gastroenterology at Mc Gill’s University in Canada and got Canadian and American board-certified in gastroenterology in 2010. He then went on to do a fellowship in advanced endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound at the prestigious Trocadero clinic in Paris, and completed an executive master’s degree in healthcare administration at Zayed University.

In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Almessabi has been the deputy CMO at SSMC since 2019. In this role, he set an example in leadership and forward thinking earning him the distinguished leader award for 2023. Before that, he occupied many leadership roles including deputy CMO at Mafraq Hospital, chair of SEHA medical council and chair of the Department of Gastroenterology at Mafraq Hospital.
