Dr. Ahmad obtained his certificate of completion of specialist training (CCST) at the London School of Anaesthesia and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (F.R.C.A.), UK. With a keen interest in academia, he served as an attending anesthesiologist at Washington University in the US, an assistant professor at Dalhousie University in Canada and a consultant anesthetist in London.
In addition to his role as a consultant at SSMC, he is the director of POM II and co-director of POM I courses at Khalifa University. He has been actively involved in teaching and training as an educational supervisor since his first faculty position in the US, overseeing medical students, internship training and resident rotations. Furthermore, he has been a regular presenter at national and international meetings, workshops and conferences, including the New York School of Regional Anesthesia (NYSORA) and the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI).
He served as the departmental head of clinical governance in the NHS from 2006 until 2014 and is currently serving as the departmental head of safety and quality since 2015.
