Dr. Omar Alfalasi, M.B.B.S., is a consultant specializing in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology with the department of medicine at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), in Abu Dhabi.

With 17 years of experience in cardiology, Dr. Omar Alfalasi has completed over 1,000 device implantation procedures and more than 700 ablations.

After completing his medical studies in the UAE, Dr. Alfalasi went on to pursue a residency program in cardiology at the University of Montpelier, France, where he worked closely with the electrophysiology team. Following this, he completed a second fellowship in adult cardiac electrophysiology at Toronto General Hospital, Canada.

Dr. Alfalasi has previously served as consultant cardiac electrophysiologist and chair of the cardiac institute at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, and as director of cardiac electrophysiology at SSMC, from 2020 to 2022. Prior to joining SSMC, Dr. Alfalasi worked at Rashid Hospital, Dubai, as a consultant in invasive adult cardiac electrophysiology.
