He further refined his expertise with advanced fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University, all based in the United States. Dr. Lahiji also played a pivotal role in the establishment of an extracorporeal life support (ECMO) programme in Santa Monica, USA, which treated 10% of the country’s ECMO patients.
