First SSMC Thoracic VATS Workshop: Lobectomy

We are pleased to welcome you to our inaugural VATS Lobectomy Workshop, designed for early- to mid-career thoracic surgeons seeking to advance their thoracoscopic skills. This immersive program offers an in-depth exploration of lobectomy, including patient selection and indications, current evidence and literature supporting its oncologic efficacy, and practical tips and techniques for successful execution.

The workshop will emphasize key pearls and common pitfalls essential to mastering VATS lobectomy. Participants will engage in a comprehensive didactic session followed by hands-on skill stations and team-based simulation using high-fidelity synthetic lung models. Practical training will focus on lobectomy and mediastinal lymphadenectomy techniques.
