Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, in partnership with Mayo Clinic, and the UAE Pediatric Surgery Society, will host the “SSMC 2nd Annual Symposium on Recent Advances in Pediatric Surgery” on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023. This hybrid continuing medical education (CME) event welcomes everyone and is open for registration to an unlimited number of virtual attendees.
Throughout the symposium, world-renowned experts in pediatric surgical care will provide updates on the management of simple and complex pediatric surgical conditions, and discuss the recent advances in pediatric surgical care. Speakers will present state-of-the-art lectures on the management of complex cases in various pediatric surgery disciplines. Multiple topics will be discussed, including recent advances in managing childhood obesity, hepatobiliary diseases, thoracoscopic surgery, vascular malformation, and pediatric urology surgery. The symposium will also host a three-hour master class on pediatric robotic surgery, where all the recent updates will be shared in detail.

Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) is a two-day, interactive course, which includes mandatory, pre-course e-learning. It covers the practical skills and knowledge that health care professionals need to effectively care for surgical patients, including those who are deteriorating or at risk of doing so.
