Dr. Khan undertook his basic medical training at University Hospital Limerick, Ireland, obtaining membership in the Royal College Of Physicians Of Ireland (MRCP). After obtaining his Medical MRCP in 2007, he completed a higher speciality training programme under the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, specialising in Rheumatology and General Medicine.
During his training, he completed an advanced fellowship in SLE and Vasculitis from Central Manchester University Hospital, the European Centre of Excellence for Lupus and Vasculitis.
Dr. Khan also received training in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography from the European League of Rheumatism and performs MSK diagnostic ultrasonography and guided procedures as a part of his daily practice.
Dr. Khan lectured and tutored in the graduate medical school at the University of Limerick and Manchester University medical school and currently works for Khalifa University as an associate professor. Before joining SSMC, he worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist in West Midlands, UK, and Healthpoint Hospital, UAE
