On behalf of the planning committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to the Opening Ceremony of the “3rd SSMC Education Week,” scheduled to take place on Monday, 14 October 2024, at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).

The theme for this year’s event is “Empowering Education with AI: Shaping the Future of Education.” Each of SSMC’s five education centres – Graduate Medical Education, Medical Student Education, Nursing Education, Health Sciences Education, Workforce and Professional Development (Staff Development, Centre for Continuous Medical Education, and Centre of Innovation and Medical Simulation) – will showcase a variety of innovative educational activities that emphasise the role of education in supporting and fostering sustainability, efficiency, and quality of the healthcare sector’s workforce. Our team will also present the collaborations between SSMC’s Education Division and healthcare institutions locally, regionally, and internationally to establish medical and clinical education programmes as part of our strategic goal to ensure the delivery of quality education.

We have designed a comprehensive four-day programme that includes seminars and booth activities featuring recent advancements in health education. This agenda reflects the focus of the education community in Abu Dhabi and the UAE in enhancing the medical education system and redesigning training and educational programmes to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving healthcare system.

We believe that your participation in the 3rd SSMC Education Week, whether in person or virtually, will be an enriching and memorable experience for you.

We extend an invitation to researchers engaged in various medical facilities across the UAE to submit abstracts for live oral presentations during the 3rd SSMC Education Week. This event will be held at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City on 17 October 2024.

Presentations should address new research findings, in-progress research or completed works. We highly encourage research submissions that demonstrate concrete impact or relevance to policy and practice.

This call for abstracts is open to all individuals and groups within the UAE, including trainees, emerging investigators and practitioners. This event aims to convene researchers, educators, policymakers, healthcare professionals, knowledge users, and trainees, fostering an environment for learning about the latest medical research and engaging in discussions centred around enhancing medical practice and primary healthcare both in the UAE and on a global scale.
