OVERVIEW

The Burn Programme is a specialised clinical service at SSMC’s Burn Centre and is responsible for the comprehensive care of burn patients and individuals with select skin disorders – from initial treatment through to long-term follow-up.

Offering 24-hour care for patients of all ages with any degree of burn severity, the programme adheres to the evidence-based standards set by the American Burn Association to ensure the highest level of treatment and support.

Integrated Care Model

Our multidisciplinary approach spans injury prevention, pre-hospital care, emergency services, critical care, perioperative management, and rehabilitation, to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care.

A full range of rehabilitation therapies, including physical, occupational, respiratory, speech and language, dietetics and psychosocial therapies are available.

All care is under the close supervision of burn surgeon consultants and critical care doctors with special training and expertise in the management of patients with burn injuries. In addition, 46 multidisciplinary specialties are available for comprehensive management.
