Endoscopic and LASER laryngeal surgery is a minimally invasive procedure performed using an endoscope and a LASER without the need for incisions in the neck.

Our North American and European Board Certified otolaryngologists utilize endoscopic and LASER laryngeal surgery to treat various laryngeal disorders, benign or malignant through the oral cavity and throat.

How is the procedure performed?

The endoscopic and LASER laryngeal surgery is performed under general anesthesia. During the procedure, an endoscope is inserted into the patient’s upper gastrointestinal tract and guided towards the larynx.

In order to reduce the damage to the vocal cords, a small hot beam of light, also known as a LASER is attached to the endoscope to allow the physician to examine and extract benign or malignant laryngeal tumors, ablate precancerous tissue, called dysplasia. These include polyps, cysts, nodules, other benign lesions, and various types of laryngeal cancers. Partial laryngectomies can also be performed endoscopically using this method.
