Stress testing, also known as the exercise stress test, is a method employed by cardiologists to monitor how the heart functions during physical activity by making the heart pump harder and faster. This test helps identify underlying issues related to blood flow within the heart along with other diseases such as coronary artery disease and heart arrhythmias.

Our team of American and UK trained expert cardiologists determine the amount of exercise appropriate for a patient by analyzing the patient’s medical history and frequency of strenuous activity.

How is the test performed?

Stress testing involves walking on a treadmill while the blood pressure, heart rhythm, and breathing of the patient are monitored.

Electrodes are placed on the patient’s chest, legs and arms and connected to an electrocardiogram machine that records the patient’s heartbeat. A blood pressure cuff is placed on the arm to monitor the blood pressure during the test.
