Dr. Balamurugan Rathinavelu, MBBS, MRCP, FRCP, is a highly experienced Consultant Radiologist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi. With 27 years of extensive experience across the UK and UAE, he specialises in clinical imaging, hepatobiliary and pancreas surgery, and cancer imaging.

Dr. Rathinavelu obtained his Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) in the UK and has served as the Lead Radiologist for various multidisciplinary meetings at SSMC. His extensive background includes collaboration with other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Rathinavelu is a Senior Lecturer at Khalifa Medical University, contributing to the education and training of future healthcare professionals. He is also an active member of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and is licensed by the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK, the Department of Health (DoH) in the UAE, and the Tamil Nadu Medical Council in India.
