Dr. Shawa is an American board-certified consultant endocrinologist with over a decade of experience in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolic disorders. He holds a special interest and expertise in endocrine neoplasia, particularly thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal tumours. As Head of the Thyroid Cancer Clinic at SSMC, he provides expert care, including thyroid and neck ultrasounds, and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirations of thyroid nodules and lymph nodes.
Dr. Shawa is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Thyroid Association (ATA), and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE).
