Dawood Altamimi, 58, was referred to SSMC after having suffered from pain in his right leg for two months, preventing him for walking long distances. He was heartbroken when he was told he had a clot in the artery of his leg that could lead to an amputation, and a dilated artery in his abdomen that could “burst”, putting his life on the line. After receiving life-saving, complex treatment at SSMC, Dawood shared his inspiring story on Emarat TV’s “Omer Jdeed”, highlighting his journey at the hospital and the expert, collaborative care he received by a multidisciplinary care team, including Dr. Mohamed Baguneid, division chair of Vascular Surgery, Deina Sharaf, senior physiotherapist, Dr. Yara Al Jalbout, consultant anesthesiologist, Dr. Shahabazali Patil, consultant interventional radiologist and Anas Abdelmajid AlAqtash, charge nurse.
