At Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), we recognise that cancer is not only a medical diagnosis, but a deeply personal experience. The SSMC Cancer Institute was established to bring together clinical expertise, advanced technology, and compassionate support within one fully integrated model of care.
Here, every patient is supported by a coordinated team of specialists, working together from diagnosis through treatment, recovery, and long-term follow-up. Our approach combines evidence-based medicine with personalised care, ensuring that each decision is guided by what matters most to you.
At the SSMC Cancer Institute, you are never navigating cancer alone. You are supported, informed, and cared for at every stage of your journey.
Your care at the SSMC Cancer Institute is guided by a multidisciplinary team of experts who collaborate closely to develop and deliver your treatment plan. This includes medical oncologists, surgeons, haematology specialists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, genetic counsellors, mental health professionals, and specialised nursing teams.
Each case is reviewed through site-specific multidisciplinary tumour boards, where specialists from relevant disciplines meet to discuss findings, align on treatment options, and ensure that care decisions are coordinated, evidence-based, and tailored to the individual patient.
By planning your care as one unified team rather than across separate departments, we aim to provide clearer answers, faster coordination, and a more seamless experience throughout your treatment.
The SSMC Cancer Institute provides expert care for a wide range of cancers and blood disorders, supported by multidisciplinary teams with experience across complex and rare conditions.
