Dr. Das has nearly two decades of experience in diabetes and endocrinology and over 23 years of experience in internal medicine, with extensive specialist training and clinical practice in the United Kingdom and the UAE.
Dr. Das obtained his M.B.B.S. with distinction from the University of Calcutta and completed his M.D. in Internal Medicine at Aligarh Muslim University, where his thesis focused on diabetes, insulin resistance, and macrovascular disease in newly detected type 2 diabetes patients and their first-degree relatives.
He subsequently pursued advanced postgraduate and specialist training in the United Kingdom, achieving MRCP qualifications both in Internal Medicine and Diabetes and Endocrinology, followed by dual Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) accreditation. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London) and a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, awarded in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field.
Prior to joining SSMC, Dr. Das served for almost 13 years as a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist within the NHS in the UK and later at a tertiary diabetes and endocrine centre in the UAE. Dr. Das has a strong academic and teaching background and remains actively involved in research, education, and postgraduate training.
He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and original studies and is a regular speaker at national and international diabetes and endocrinology conferences. His clinical practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine, innovation, and patient-centred care.
