After graduating from Dundee University in Scotland, Dr. Karajeh completed postgraduate training in general internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology in England. He served as a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS foundation trust for over a decade. He also served as a senior lecturer at Sheffield University. He has been involved in research throughout his career with publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and award-winning papers. He has been an invited speaker at national and international meetings. With over two decades of experience in gastroenterology and hepatology, Dr. Karajeh is an expert in performing endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, cholangioscopy, stenting, and endoscopic bariatric procedures, such as intragastric balloons and endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty. Additionally, Dr. Karajeh has established a successful endobariatric service at SSMC and helped introduce minimally invasive procedures for weight loss.
