Dr. Awad provides expert care for patients with a wide range of endocrine disorders. She combines clinical excellence with a strong commitment to medical education and research, ensuring patients receive evidence-based, personalised treatment.
Dr. Awad holds extensive experience in both general and specialised endocrinology. She manages complex conditions such as thyroid disorders, diabetes, and pituitary disorders, and has expertise in specialised clinics including thyroid cancer and nodule evaluation, insulin pump management for Type 1 diabetes, and multidisciplinary pituitary tumour care in collaboration with neurosurgery.
Prior to joining SSMC, Dr. Awad served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Queen’s University, Canada. She led postgraduate medical education programs, including serving as Curriculum Lead and Associate Programme Director for the Core Internal Medicine Residency Programme. She has a strong background in supervising, teaching, and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students, as well as overseeing research and quality improvement projects.
