With 28 years of extensive experience managing critically ill patients, Dr. Sakr is a consultant physician specializing in critical care medicine, anesthesiology and emergency medicine. Dr. Sakr is also skilled in a broad spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. In addition to his clinical acumen, Dr. Sakr has made significant contributions to academia with numerous scholarly achievements. He has been an active member of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine since 2003 and served as the chair of the Systemic Inflammation and Sepsis Section of this society from 2015 to 2018. Dr. Sakr’s proficiency extends to his author and co-authorship of more than 200 articles and book chapters, reflecting his dedication to advancing medical knowledge. Notably, Dr. Sakr has led and contributed to several large scale European multicenter studies, highlighting his reputation as a leading figure in critical care medicine.
