With over 12 years of experience in surgical oncology, Dr. Mohammed Basheeruddin Inamdar is a Consultant Surgical Oncologist with a specialised focus and extensive expertise in cytoreductive surgery and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) for the treatment of advanced and complex abdominal cancers, including gastric and colorectal malignancies, as well as peritoneal carcinomatosis associated with gynaecological cancers.
He has significant experience in managing peritoneal surface malignancies, offering advanced surgical solutions aimed at maximising tumour clearance and improving patient outcomes. His expertise includes performing comprehensive cytoreductive procedures combined with intraperitoneal chemotherapy techniques, including HIPEC and Pressurised Intraperitoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC), placing him among a limited number of specialists dedicated to this highly complex field.
In addition to his core specialisation, Dr. Basheeruddin manages a broad spectrum of cancers, including gastrointestinal (stomach and colon), hepatobiliary, thoracic, breast, thyroid, and head and neck malignancies. His breast surgery practice includes breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and mastectomy. He also utilises advanced minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques where appropriate.
He has a particular interest and extensive experience in the management of complex retroperitoneal and soft tissue sarcomas. For selected cases of low rectal cancer, he performs sphincter-preserving, robotic-assisted surgery.
Dr. Basheeruddin adopts a multidisciplinary, patient-centred approach, working closely with oncology teams to deliver personalised treatment plans, particularly for patients with advanced-stage and recurrent cancers. His clinical practice is driven by precision, innovation, and a commitment to delivering advanced cancer care within a tertiary, multidisciplinary setting.
