An Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery and a General Surgery Consultant in General Surgery with subspecialty training in upper gastrointestinal oncology surgery, trauma surgery, and surgical intensive care, Dr. Hallal has over 19 years of experience in surgery and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Dr. Hallal is a keen educator in the science of surgery and was appointed as the Program Director for General Surgery Residency and the Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care Fellowship programs during his tenure at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), Lebanon.
He specializes in performing gastric and esophageal cancer surgery, complex abdominal redo surgery including enterocutaneous fistula management, peritoneal surface malignancy surgery (HIPEC), minimally invasive hernia and abdominal wall hernia surgery, benign upper gastrointestinal surgery (gastric and esophageal pathology), acute care surgery, trauma surgery, surgical intensive care, laparoscopic surgery, and general surgery.
