Dr. Pervez, a qualified radiation oncologist, received his training in the Republic of Ireland, and Canada, with his extensive experience including multiple academic achievements in Ireland, Canada and the Middle East.
His clinical expertise encompasses the treatment of cancers at various sites, with a particular focus on breast and prostate cancers. He was an integral member of the Prostate Cancer Brachytherapy Seed Implantation Treatment Programme in Canada and played a key role in establishing Prostate Brachytherapy treatment, in the Middle East. He has also co-chaired the Breast Cancer Group in Alberta, Canada, and made significant contributions to the Alberta Breast Cancer Treatment Guidelines.
An active presence in the Resident Training Programme and Clinical Research Fellowship Programme in Radiation Oncology at the University of Alberta, Canada, he has made substantial contributions to medical education and was awarded the Best Teacher Award by residents in recognition of his exceptional impact. He oversees research projects for international fellows, many of whom have advanced to prominent academic, clinical and leadership positions worldwide.
Dr. Pervez has also been invited to speak at scientific conferences in multiple countries and is actively engaged in clinical research, securing several competitive research grants from awarding bodies. He has been instrumental in leading investigator-initiated studies and participated in multi-institutional cooperative group studies.
Dr. Pervez has published extensively in some of the leading Oncology journals including The Lancet, JAMA, JCO, European Urology, IJROBP, Radiotherapy & Oncology, Medical Physics, BJU, Cancers and others.
In addition, Dr. Pervez has served on institutional ethics committees, research funding bodies, medical student selection committees and scientific committees for several distinguished oncology journals.
As a founding member of the Middle East Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (MESTRO), Dr. Pervez currently holds the position of Vice Chair, further demonstrating his commitment to advancing the field of radiation oncology.
